Public transportation is available almost everywhere in Hawaii, but it operates at Hawaii time. If you’re not familiar with that term, I can assure you that you do not want to be. Popular Destination Spots
The North Shore is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. There are so many things to do from surfing, hiking, snorkeling, or just enjoying the scenery. The wide, white-sand beaches are world-renowned, and the temperate climate makes it easy to enjoy activities all year round. One of the most common questions people have is “How do I get around?” This can be a daunting question with all of the car rental options out there. One choice that is easy, you have to rent a car, No question!
Our family loves Hawaii – we build lasting memories while we are experiencing this beautiful land. When our kids were younger it was hard to find activities that would keep them busy but on Oahu, there’s always something fun going on! From playing at Makapu’u Beach Park to taking in an evening show, we truly love the Hawaiian spirit.
We enjoy visiting the beautiful North Shore of Hawaii for a family vacation. It is one of our favorite places to visit because it offers something for everyone in the family. Those who enjoy water activities, can take surfing lessons or go snorkeling around some of the most stunning reefs on earth. If you prefer hiking, there are miles and miles of trails that lead to hidden waterfalls and magnificent views over the ocean. We always rent a car so we can explore all this paradise has to offer!
If you’re looking for a more chill vibe then Waimea Bay is for you. Waimea Bay is located on the North Shore of Oahu. This beach has some of the most beautiful views in Hawaii. The waves are generally bigger than at other beaches, but it’s still possible to find a spot with small waves if you walk further down the shore. If you love exploring tide pools and want to go snorkeling or diving, there are plenty of opportunities here! You’ll be able to see sea turtles and even sharks! There are also food trucks that will deliver your favorite Hawaiian dishes right to your chair on the beach–talk about relaxing!
Rain Forest of Hawaii
Hawaii is known for its gorgeous and lush rainforest. The beauty of this place has been captured in movies like Jurassic Park and 50 First Dates. One of the many beautiful falls that can be found on Oahu’s North Shore is Waimea Falls. It is a picturesque destination with a waterfall plunging 100 feet into an emerald pool below, as well as other smaller cascades that tumble over mossy rocks to join the main flow at the bottom. The water from these falls flows into a large pond that makes for an excellent swimming hole during warmer months. Avoid entering during heavy rains or when there are strong currents due to sudden rises in water levels.
There are picnic tables near the top of the falls where visitors can relax. You can enjoy your day hiking or just relax at the lookout point. So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and get ready to have some fun in paradise! This waterfall has a beautiful crystal clear pool at the bottom. There are many different types of fish that inhabit the water and there are also some other animals too. The area around it is so green and lush with rainforest plants, which makes this place perfect for nature lovers to explore. If you’re looking for an adventure in paradise, then stop by Waimea Falls!
Car Rental North Shore
I was a little hesitant about renting a car in Hawaii at first, but after doing my research and talking with locals I felt more confident. If you’re like me when you started planning your trip to the island of Oahu your thoughts were about beaches drinks and relaxation. But after doing some digging around on travel it quickly became apparent that there is so much more than just these three things to do while visiting paradise.
P.S. You can’t miss the famous statue of Duke Kahanamoku at this bay too. He was one of Hawaii’s most revered surfers and also known as “The Father of Modern Surfing” so he deserves our respect 🙂
